Winemaker Name
Elaine Lyttleton (Executive Winemaker & Co-Owner)
Hatfield Creek Vineyards & Winery is a family winery on Highway 78 in Ramona, founded in 2006 by owners Norm and Elaine, who planted Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Malbec in the then newly established Ramona Valley AVA. Their award-winning Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Malbec are the heart of the lineup, and visitors often mention how happy the owners are to share their wines and their story.
What to expect: a scenic, relaxed tasting room about 45 minutes from downtown San Diego, open Friday through Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. Hatfield Creek is adults-only (21 and over) and dog-friendly, which makes it a good stop for a wine day with your dog but not with kids.
Nearby: Hatfield Creek is on the east side of Ramona along Highway 78, close to Poppaea Vineyard, Old Julian Vineyards and La Finquita, and on the way to Julian. See our Ramona Valley wine trail guide and plan the day with the Wine Tasting Day Trip Builder.
