Estate vineyard on Sleeping Indian ridgeline in Oceanside/Fallbrook — Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Montepulciano, and Zinfandel — first vineyard established in the San Luis Rey Valley
Beach House Winery is the first vineyard established in the San Luis Rey Valley — named Vigna al Mare (Vineyard at the Sea) for its panoramic Pacific Ocean views from the Sleeping Indian ridgeline. George and Kim Murray pursued formal education in viticulture and enology at UC Davis after starting as hobby winemakers in 1998. Son Steven Murray has worked the land since age 8 and represents the next generation of the family winery. The 257 avocado trees that previously occupied the site were converted to compost to nourish the vineyard soil — a testament to the Murrays' commitment to sustainable agriculture and agritourism in North County San Diego.
Beach House Winery hosts private tastings, group visits, and special events at their Sleeping Indian ridgeline estate with panoramic Pacific Ocean views. Located in the South Morro Hills agricultural community of Oceanside, the winery offers a warm family-friendly atmosphere with ocean and canyon views. Contact the winery via Facebook or directly at the tasting room for private event inquiries.
