About The Winery

Hungry Hawk Vineyards & Winery is a Promoted Escondido estate on Summit Drive producing wines with the focus and intensity implied by the name. The winery has earned its promoted status through wines that consistently over-deliver for the price, making it one of North County's best value propositions for serious wine drinkers who want estate quality without estate-level pricing.

What to Expect

Hungry Hawk rewards visitors looking for honest value and a genuine estate experience without the crowds of the bigger-name stops. The Summit Drive setting in Escondido is peaceful, with vineyard views and an unpretentious tasting area where the staff take time to walk you through the lineup. This is a place for wine drinkers who want to actually talk about what’s in the glass. Weekends are the main tasting window, so check current hours before you drive out. The pace is calm and conversational — ideal for a smaller group or a couple rather than a large party. Pack a picnic if you’d like to make an afternoon of it, as the surroundings invite it. The approach is rural North County, so allow a little extra drive time. Free on-site parking and a welcoming, no-pressure atmosphere round out the visit.
