Sierra Roble is a small, family-owned boutique winery in the Warner Springs area of northeast San Diego County, set along Highway 79 just next door to Shadow Mountain. The focus is Bordeaux varietals — grown on the estate and sourced from local vineyards using traditional, organic, sustainability-minded methods. Expect a chill, welcoming experience hosted by owners Dave and Jeanine, who are widely praised in reviews for some of the best customer service around and for sharing the story of how the vineyard came to be. Tastings and wines by the glass are served on a lovely outdoor patio with spectacular backcountry views in every direction. You’re welcome to bring a picnic or snacks to enjoy with your flight. Hours are limited — generally Friday through Sunday afternoons — and the highway sign can be misleading, so confirm current hours before making the drive. Free on-site parking.
