About The Winery
Storum Ranch Cider & Wine is an orchard, cidery and winery on Wynola Road outside Julian, on land that backs up to the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve. The family bought the original seven acres in 2010, restored the old orchard and expanded it to about 2,500 apple trees in 60 varieties, plus peaches, pears and plums. For years they sold their fruit at the Julian Apple Stand on Highway 78 before building a production facility and opening Storum Ranch as a tasting room.
What to expect: hard cider made from their own apples alongside a lineup of wines that has included an estate apple wine, Albariño, a crisp steel-fermented Chardonnay and a Sangiovese rosé. It is a great stop if your group includes cider fans and wine drinkers, and it fits perfectly into an apple-season trip to Julian. The tasting room is open Friday through Sunday.
Nearby: Wynola is a few minutes from downtown Julian, Menghini Winery, Volcan Mountain Winery and Blue Door Winery. See our Julian wine country guide for the full picture, or plan the day with the Wine Tasting Day Trip Builder.
