Winemaker Name
Bob (Winemaker & "Heart and Soul") — Mom-and-Pop Family Operation
VecchioOso Vineyard brings an Italian-influenced winemaking vision to the south county backcountry of Jamul, producing Mountain View estate wines from Elena Lane with the old-world sensibility that the name — Italian for old bear — suggests. The winery occupies a remote and scenic position in San Diego's granite-studded south county wine territory.

5-acre estate vineyard at 2,500 feet elevation in Deerhorn Valley near Jamul — decomposed granite terroir on a south-facing slope producing full-bodied, age-worthy small-batch wines
VecchieOso Vineyard (Italian for "Old Bear") is a limited-production boutique vineyard at 2,500 feet elevation in Deerhorn Valley, Jamul — a mom-and-pop operation that turned an unassuming 5-acre farm into a flourishing estate winery. Winemaker Bob focuses on age-worthy premium wines in small batches, with decomposed granite terroir and a south-facing slope helping achieve full-bodied aromas. The 2021 Syrah was bottle-rested for a full year before release — a testament to the winery's patience and commitment to quality. Part of the Highway 94 Wine Trail in San Diego's East County.
