Highland Valley Vineyards began when Mike's Italian neighbor convinced him to plant some vines — a few vines turned into 3,000, which turned into a 1,600 sq ft cellar and an award-winning micro winery on the edge of beautiful Highland Valley. Son-in-law Nelson joined as winemaker after three years of meticulous vine care. The team sought counsel from neighboring wineries Cactus Star Vineyard, Highland Hills Winery, and Kohill Winery before producing their first award-winning wines.
