Winemaker Name
Gabriela Bremer (Master Winemaker)
Rancho Guejito Vineyard is one of the most historically significant wine estates in San Diego County, producing wines from land that has been continuously farmed since the Spanish colonial era on San Pasqual Valley Road. The property is part of one of the oldest land grants in the county, and the wines carry that history — estate fruit from generations-old ground that has been cultivated for longer than California has been a state.
Rancho Guejito is a destination as much as a tasting room, set at the historic 1885 Rockwood Farmhouse on the southern tip of a nearly 23,000-acre working ranch in the San Pasqual Valley, just minutes from the San Diego Safari Park. Plan to make an afternoon of it. The big draw is the complimentary hayride and tractor tour through the citrus groves and vineyards (offered with any purchase), alongside regular live acoustic music. Tastings are served in shaded gardens with sweeping views, and there’s air conditioning indoors for hot days. It’s genuinely kid- and dog-friendly, with yard games and seasonal kid activities, and you’re welcome to bring a picnic — though food is also available, including burgers made from the ranch’s own grass-fed beef. Most estate wines are reasonably priced. The winery typically opens on weekends, so confirm current hours before you drive out. Free on-site parking.

22,000+ acre ranch in San Pasqual Valley — one of the few intact Mexican Land Grant ranches in California, with vineyards growing alongside 2,000 grass-fed cattle, avocados, citrus, and grapefruits. Mission grapes first planted in 1856 by Col. A.E. Maxcy.
Rancho Guejito is one of the most historically significant properties in all of California — a 22,000-acre Mexican Land Grant ranch originally granted in 1845, now being petitioned for its own AVA designation. Master winemaker Gabriela Bremer crafts wines from estate grapes grown on land where wine grapes were first planted in 1856 by Col. A.E. Maxcy, making it one of California's earliest recorded vineyard sites. The Rockwood Ranch Farmhouse (built 1885) serves as the tasting room. The ranch encompasses 22,000+ acres of vineyards, cattle operations, avocados, citrus, and citrus groves in the San Pasqual Valley.
Rancho Guejito offers exclusive private parties at their mountaintop hacienda with 360-degree views spanning San Diego County. Sit poolside with live music and BBQ.
